Oy my God, this is such big news I know you'll all squeal with delight when you hear it.

Are you ready?

Are you sitting down?

Have you consumed food or drink in the past twenty-four hours? If so, please have a bucket handy.

A mop might also be a good idea.

Here it comes....

Oh bliss.....

The big news is that: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=13895

Now tell me Hollywood doesn't have their finger on the pulse.

I just now recovered enough to post this reply,.....

....and I thought Hollywood had hit the bottom of the barrel when they did the movie version of "The Brady Bunch". :eusa_doh:

The idea of making a cartoon/ live action movie is a good one, but only if done correctly as in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?".

I just wish that Hollywood would make a movie version of a real high quality TV show from the past for once, like Three's Company. :p lol

hahaha, have no fear Underdog is here!

Some people think Hollywood scrapes the bottom of the barrel, I think it dwells there!

This is not surprising at all. Filmmakers prefers to play the "safe bets" no matter how ridiculous. Rather than read a script and invest in something interesting and dare I say "creative", they prefer to invest their money in Charlie's Angels or another Adam Sandler film.:eusa_doh: :eusa_doh:

Stupendous!,......... Why, it's sheer genious!!!

A Charlie's Angels film featuring Adam Sandler is sure to be a Mega- blockbuster!

When will you be finished with the screenplay? :)

Actually Hollywood isn't scraping the bottom of the barrel...they're now under the barrel digging a tunnel to china....

One can only hope that this will be as big a hit as the live action Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Next up: Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro in "Go-Go-Gophers"...

I would love to see Felix the Cat done by Pixar :)
I believe Pixar only makes films involving their own character creations but Felix the Cat deserves the best!

From the description on IMDb:

Plot Outline: A lab accident gives a hound named Shoeshine some serious superpowers -- a secret that the dog eventually shares with the young boy who becomes his owner and friend.

Why on earth must they always muck with the circumstances of the source material? Why not just set it in a "dog universe" like the cartoon was? "Modernizing" the story didn't work for Rocky & Bullwinkle or even "Bewitched." I wonder if they'll still have Underdog speak in rhyme...?

Things feel fine when I sit down
But when I stand up
Things spin 'round and 'round!

They changed the story from pills to a one-time lab accident, just as the pill-popping scenes were cut out already in comic times, in order not to promote drugs, I gather.

Tom Slick / George of the Jungle / Super Chicken

When are they going to do a "Tom Slick" movie?

Music please:
In his "Thunderbolt Grease slapper"
he'll be on your tail,
he won't fail,
because there's no such word as fail to-oh
Tom Slick
Tom Slick!

Crowd response barely spoken, limb banners hel ad chest height...

yeah....

And I've been waiting for the Commander McBragg movie - blowhard teller of tall tales ends up in a real life adventure!

If I were in Hollywood I would also pitch The Lockhorns movie. Just string together 90 minutes of one-liners with no plot and sign on Danny Devito and Bette Midler as the sparring couple.

Regards,

Senator Jack

Time to visit your local library

We have (had) a person at work nicknamed "Commander McBragg"...no matter WHAT your story, his was always bigger, better, faster, more dangerous...you get it! HA.

I think my earlier posts on the Lounge have become far more evident now...with this (Stupid) remake/cartoon/movie!

When I was growing up, and through school, movie greats like "Lawrence of Arabia" , "My Fair Lady", "The Great Escape", "The Sound of Music", "Fiddler on the Roof", "The Pink Panther", Goldfinger", "Bridge on the River Kwai"....

Now all Hollywood can do is remake old worn out plot lines and copy the originals..which were better. Where is the creative genius? If not for greats like Stephen Speilberg, with his good films, and some of the others....I'd stay in the Library!

How about a live-action Clutch Cargo?
The actors could film without moving their mouths and have talking mouths super-imposed in post-production.:p

When my friends and I were little and saw "Underdog" cartoons intact, we'd love to emulate his Secret Energy Pill habit by... eating candy. (M&Ms worked best.)

I guess today's kids are just dumber, 'cause my friends and I never would've thought to raid the medicine cabinet for real pills; we knew those would make us sick.

But with people loving lawyers the way they do, it's probably wise to ditch the Energy Pills in case one stupid kid does grab Mommy's medicine instead of an M&M.

It is not the children but the dumber parents who raise a child who would do something like that! The idiot parent then cries "foul!" and feels the burning desire to sue someone (it couldn't possibly be their fault) when the child takes a handfull of medication. Btw, is it a co-incidence this is the generation making all these lame remakes? hmm...[huh] ;)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha....I'd see that one, too!!

And you know, the Banana Splits would be a good one to bring back. Have they done a live-action Yogi Bear and I missed it?

I think I'll just stick to Turner Classic Movies...it's safer there than in the real world :fing28:
