The Adventures of Phillip Marlowe in Savannah, GA

I thought FLers would get a kick out of what I spied on my walk to work today:

Marlowe is probably one of my favorite OTR detectives to listen to, so I got a real kick out of seeing this in my morning walk. (One more image of the entrance can be found here.)

I did some research on the building and all I could really find is that it is an apartment building created in 1908.
Perhaps the sign is just a landlord's sense of humor?

When you walk by there again, you should go ask to speak to Marlowe. See if he's currently available for hire.

This joker respected the -e writing, but put an L too much in Philip. Also, writing "private eye" on the door looks stupid in my opinion.

But I wonder what that is meant to be - not an actual PI company, it seems. Maybe just a fan?

Yes, the building is on Bull St., but it seems to have no link with the interior design company that used to be there. After a few inquiries I have discovered that the window sticker was put up by a previous tenant several years ago. No one has attempted to remove or mess with it as of yet.

Cool. My brother Kell taught at SCAD. He lived on Abercorn Street. I like to see people have fun with their surroundings. So like Savannah to just leave it be. Thanks for sharing.
