Icthyological species, seeming of the stingray model.

Per this article, deepwater stingrays live in the Pacific at depths of About 2,300 feet. The thing in the Gulf of Mexico video is at more than twice that depth. Seriously deep —more than a mile down.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deepwater_stingray

Also the object in the video lacks the classic swimming motion of a Stingray. It seems to be very rigid and looks to be somehow ”propelled” …and pretty fast.

At the same time —after watching it again— I’m not sure that I’m ready to agree with the narrator who thinks it might be some kind of advanced submarine drone. To me the “skin” of the thing does not look smooth and metallic. Admittedly we only get a quick glimpse through murky water.

Shrugs. Which doesn’t mean it is not a stingray. Perhaps it is a completely new species of stingray. That would be interesting and newsworthy in itself. But it doesn’t really look like a stingray. I confess that I’m still stumped.

“You sound like you want to believe.“ TM

Of course, maybe it is an Unidentified Submerged Object (USO).

Another story of a U.S. submarine encountering a fast moving unidentified thingamajig of some type.

https://www.investmentwatchblog.com...object-travelling-faster-than-speed-of-sound/

This story is all over the internet. Of course that does not make it true. However, Chris Lehto is nothing if not earnest.

It is perhaps telling that the DOD is now investigating “transmedium“ object reports. Is this all the crazy imaginings of people with too much imagination and too little accountability? Or are these reports reflective of a real but unexplained phenomena?? It is all very easy to dismiss. Yet these stories have been around for a few decades. Crazy yet strangely captivating.

Talking on-line about history’s mysteries and unexplained phenomena, etc, is fine. However, I’ve been thinking that the Fedora Lounge Adventure Speakeasy Klub (F.L.A.S.K.) needs a brick and mortar clubhouse. Someplace with a nice bar, where you can hide those golf clubs that your wife doesn’t know you bought.

What do you think about this property? For a 14th Century castle built by the Teutonic Knights, it’s in pretty good shape. And, at 12 million PLN (a little under 3 million US$), you can’t beat the price.

It’s a little bit south of Kaliningrad and a little bit west of the notorious Suwalki Gap, making it an excellent viewing point when WWIII starts. Or maybe even a good marshaling point, if one feels the need to get involved.

As I said, it was built by the Teutonic Knights, so you know that it is sturdy. BTW, after 800+ years, the Teutonic Order still survives to this very day. Although they don’t “do” knights anymore, and I doubt they’d accept us FLASKers as members.

Still, pretty cool. It wouldn’t hurt to ask.

So, what do you think? I think a medieval castle would be pretty cool and appropriate for us. Great place for the F.L.A.S.K. Clubhouse. Gotta love the price. Or have you been eyeing an alternative property that might also be good? (Or perhaps it is best to simply continue spending our money on wine, women, and song… and on Fedoras, Land Rovers, and DC-3s.)

The budget committee seeks your input.

New megalithic stonework find…. In Montana, of all places.
Pretty crazy.

There are a few interesting YouTube videos out there about this supposedly human constructed stone wall. But not yet a debunking Wikipedia page saying “it’s a natural formation.” Soon to come, no doubt.
If interested, Google “sage wall Montana” for a start.

Of course this might support (or contradict) Graham Hancocks theory that traces of an undiscovered ice age civilization have been swallowed up by time.

Can‘t help but start out skeptical …maybe I’m just skeptical because Montana seems like such an unlikely location. At minimum it’s a very interesting rock formation. …Or could it hint at a very ancient lost civilization?

Have you ever gone to an obscure event in an unlikely Place, only to find that you were randomly seated next to a relative who you haven’t seen in 20 years? But you had just wondered about that relative a day earlier? Or perhaps you were unsuccessfully looking for a very specific piece of information when you got on public transit and found a book that someone had accidentally left on a seat… and it was exactly the book you were looking for. I think we have all probably experienced weird coincidences. Or were they coincidences?

Carl Jung famously theorized that something a bit mysterious is going on; that the universe somehow sorts events in a seemingly meaningful way. He called it synchronicity. Mathematicians are inclined to say “humbug”, and point out that with trillions of events happening in any given week, it is inevitable that some really strange (but meaningless) coincidences will occur.

If, like me, you have ever pondered if extremely unlikely coincidences are REALLY just random accidents, you are in luck. Now there is a place that collects such stories. It is called “The Coincidence Project”. Just scroll down to the Story Forum for examples of events that might make you wonder.

https://thecoincidenceproject.net/

Is something going on “behind the curtain” in the universe that science has not yet figured out? Is the cosmos somehow organized for meaning?

Over 1.6 tons of gold stolen from Toronto airport. That’s a lot of gold! Obviously, this heist required planning, logistics, a team of coconspirators, and smarts. The internet is already calling it an Ocean’s Eleven type caper. And, once stolen, I presume that gold will not be difficult to launder.

Although I’d like to dream that the job was pulled off by a sophisticated and classy team of International Jewel Thieves (Think Fred Astaire as Alistair Mundy), I suspect it was just a couple of airport insiders who knew the freight system well. Part of me —I know it’s wrong!— hopes they get away with it. It’s the romantic in me. ;)

The Chinese have bailed enormous US Treasuries held for gold tonnage, a pragmatic make-to-market offset
of its dollar spot/yuan push play while digitalized currency has birthed after the FTX crypto conflagration. This aids
China's bid for reserve status with underlay specie whereas crypto is stillborn software. The Russian rouble has taken
a slam against the BRICK-a-bracs with much of Moscow's foreign wad rubber band freeze wrapped.
So the Kremlin pulled a jack the lad in Canada.
