I know that those of you who love campaign hats will appreciate this article in today's Rocky Mountain News, published in Denver (about 60 miles north of Pike's Peak.

That's what I think of when I see the hat type worn by Forest Rangers. I'm sure DeanGlen will be by to comment. IIRC, he's one of the big fans.

Rocky Mountain News?

Used to love to pick up a copy when out in your country. I think there badly informed as to the boss of the plains. I"m sure Dean Glen will chime in when he's ready. The type of hat now worn is called Montana Peak or Peak Like!!!.There have been several variations. The regs called for a campaign hat to be creased fore and aft like a fedora, originally. This style is turn of the 20th Century style, NOT a boss of the plains.
