If you are ever in the mood for a breeze, easy going, and extremely charming comedy please give The Little Hut a viewing. It was released in 1957 and stars Stewart Granger, Ava Gardner, and David Niven. This delightful comedy chronicles the shipwreck of Sir and Lady Philip Ashlow played wonderfully by Stewart Granger and Ava Gardner, with their best friend Henry Brittingham Brett (Niven) on a deserted island.
Brett is quietly in love with Lady Ashlow having missed his opportunity to marry her due to what Brett's mother describes as, "being an idiot when it comes to women."
As the three castaways face the realities (romantic comedy style) of living together, Brett's passion for Lady Ashlow surfaces. To add insult to injury he is deemed a third wheel and is relegated to live in the little hut while husband and wife enjoy a second honeymoon on their tropical isle.
Brett intends to make some changes in the social arrangement and we get to enjoy the result.
The dialogue is witty and sprinkled with hilarious double entendre without having to use foul language. The actors play their roles to perfection.
It is a shame this film is not on dvd. This is a great film for the Fedora Lounge crew.
Enjoy!

I saw the film for the first time last month and I enjoyed it immensely. The castaways run-in with the islands indigenous person is hilarious. And, Ava is always a sight to behold.
