The Simmonsbilt ranch jacket

I want to tell of my experiences with Simmonsbilt- I had been after their desert Roughout ranch jacket with white shearling lining & in talks with one Debs Toohey, but after waiting an entire year I heard nothing & could t get a reply..
So I attempted to buy one & paid £713 -weeks & weeks later no jacket just an e mail & a one hundred pound refund with a message from Debs Toohey saying she’s cancelled the order “because she hasn’t established a line of communication”..
A little strange that despite over two years attempting to merely purchase one, this is the best that can be done..
So if anyone has one in 42” (or even a 44),I would love to buy it

Might be worth giving them a call or sending something by regular mail, but I can't imagine why emails aren't working.

Debs is fantastic. I'd send a few back and forth emails and re-order. Everything I've had from SB has been good and fits are great.

Yeah she must like you more than she likes me because she made me wait a year I said cool np but then she wasn’t replying to my e mail about how’s my jacket coming along so then fast forward another year & I thought ah there’s one of those il buy an off the rail one but Debs cancelled the order because I had the temerity to mention about this experience ,didn’t say anything out of order or anything but she read my little couple li es of notes & the orders cancelled out of spitefulness so ai figured I had the right to post here about it but not to vent so much as relate my experience with the company & to see if maybe anyone had one for sale type thing.

Not really,I’ve just summarised how it played out-my phone number was there on the PayPal details & on the form again but she never reached out just waited approx three or four weeks after the order processed then cancelled it , with an oh “sorry” lol pretty straightforward & the motive to my mind was not liking me commenting in “additional notes” made at the time of the order about her lack of response during ongoing negotiations to try to get her to make my jacket , which after a year of promises just turned to blanking me
It’s no big deal just that’s what happened to me
And I obviously didn’t call Moffat since I thought aha shipment imminent
Anyway I did get a really nice Lone Star from Master Supply Co so I wasnt bothered much just wanted to post about it
Huhm the photos too large but I’ll post one in due course

It's a bit hard to understand what happened from your descriptions, which are written confusingly.

It does sound like you were trying to convince them to make a jacket they didn't want to? What's 'negotiating' mean in this context? It also seems that they were sending you emails you didn't see or acknowledge, is it possible they were actually sent but went into your Spam folder?

These incomplete excerpts completly out of context tell nothing of value imho.

That being said, Debs has always appeared friendly in all contact I had with Simmons Bilt; sort of American unauthentic kind of friendly but friendly non the less.

Her fiance/husband Steve is a great person; I met him in person at their factory when I visited Scotland and enjoyed what conversation we had.

Maybe it has to do with english being my third language but the complete lack of punctuation marks makes it impossible for me to understand what the op tries to say. Did he order one custom and one stock item (and in the comments complained about the custom one?); do they still owe him 613 pounds?

Just another case of talking about each other instead of with each other, me thinks.

What I can infer is that an order got cancelled due to communication deficiencies. I wasn’t there, but in my limited experience it’s rarely totally one sided.
But I can be wrong, of course. As I said - there’s a lot of info missing here.

Generally, with SB, I have had excellent communications. It’s quite a small workshop; I’ve had a straight ‘No’ to orders when they’re overburdened. On one occasion, communications ceased, but I was unable to decipher Shanghai tax and SB would (understandably) have gone with better orderers (which might be a word). I hope things resolved themselves: I own three SBs and haven’t had issues with any that worried me.
