Picked up a "5 Inch Brim, 5-3/4 Inch Crown, Oak-Colored Guatemalan Standard Palm Hat, Unshaped" from Sunbody.
I wish it was a little darker but it will work. It's a little crunchy after drying - I guess that's the gelatin they apply?

My first attempt at shaping made the crown too short for a 5 inch brim, so I started again. First to get the center bash right (I'm satisfied). Tomorrow, I will put some dents in the side. Not sure whether to go with a front pinch or dent the sides (cattleman style). Although, the more I look at it, the more I am liking it as is. I'm even starting to like the hacked together leather band.

It looks fab as is, if anything I'd go for a bit of a front pinch. They don't tend to hold deep, tight pinches, I give mine a little pinch when I soak it to keep the pinch visible, but I've worked a teardrop crown with a raised centre into mine to go for the full look.

I might reshape mine into a centre crease without a pinch just like yours for a change, and for maximum cooling effect as this summer is turning out to be a scorcher here.
