This thread is a long way of saying "thank you". When I arrived here at the Fedora Lounge, I had only two hats to my name. Over the last six months, your generously shared knowledge, advice, and warnings have helped me assemble a small but satisfying collection. I couldn't have done it without jamespowers, Matt Deckard, besdor, snrbfshn, jpdesign, Art Fawcett, Zohar, fedora, Harry Lime, mthatter, scotrace, and many, many others. The hat collection below is yours as much as it is mine.

1930s-'40s brown "Chapeau Vimonet" fedora (made in Belgium), purchased in a local thrift store.

1920s "Wales - Stambler" Montecristi panama homburg, purchased from Art Fawcett.

Wow , that is some collection!!. I see that patience is important as you have picked out some very nice hats. Knowledge is very important when buying a vintage hat. I've learned alot from reading the various threads on the Lounge and I'm glad to share any info about the industry when I can .:cool2:

A very nice collection, Marc.

I, too, would like to thank all those who share their knowledge so freely in the Lounge for helping me start my collection.

That is a great collection. I love the Cavanaugh. I wonder if Art could make something comprable.

Now... how do you manage to get such a close shave?
