The weighted blanket verses a heavy leather jacket?

Been reading up a little on weighted blankets, as a friend indicated he uses one to help fall asleep. More I read, the more I think about a good, heavy leather jacket. Read the following:
PTSDJournal.com explains there’s a study that shows sleeping with a weighted blanket can reduce insomnia and anxiety. It says the blanket will mold to your body shape “like a warm hug,” and that the pressure will help relax your nervous system.

The site touts it as a “totally safe and effective non-drug therapy” for getting proper sleep. The benefits also go back to the neurotransmitters from deep touch – the serotonin produced will convert into melatonin, which is your body’s natural sleep hormone, it adds. (From: https://www.activebeat.com/your-health/getting-heavy-with-6-facts-about-weighted-blankets/4/)

Sounds a whole lot like a Vanson or Lost Worlds jacket that we are trying to break-in, eh?

Just a thought, maybe there's a yet another medical reason for a jacket like ours...

There is definitely an appeal to a heavy, broken-in jacket. I hate the Blanquil however. They aren’t big enough for the whole bed, so it acts as a wall dividing mine in un-equal sides. My wife likes it though.

I always sleep better if there's a cover over the duvet- even just a blanket. I sleep best in hotel beds which always look like they're overly layered but I never overheat in them. Gravity blankets probably link into swaddling infants (I remember being told that it makes them feel safe). I think I just like jackets because they're substantial and because I only feel dressed if I'm wearing something over a shirt unless it's really, really hot.

I cant wear blanket i will kick it to the floor during sleep, not even when im in high fever, so on chiler nights or when feeling unwell, i sleep in jacket and thick socks, last 3 days i ve been breaking in my denim jackets by wearing it to full 8hrs dreamless full rested sleep, 4 30 in the morning jumping out of bed fully energized taking off the jacket to check whats up on the back panel creases, before sitting down to pray.:D

Agreed. We bought the 12 lb’r from Target. I’ve had the horrible ba***rd partially covering me at night and wanted to chuck it out the window. My wife loves it...but I want to watch it burn, while the cubes in my cup jingle, and I grin a sinister ear to ear.

It doesn’t burn...it smolders while poisoning you with toxic fumes as it chuckles, puckers, and winks at you.
Ours is the 20 pounder.
