Quite good film.
I was having my doubts about it but from the very beginning I enjoyed it.
Prefer the old one though..;)

from the trailers, it seemed to me that nothing can go wrong when you put Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving in a period-era story...

When I saw it, I was mesmerized by the cinematography. The colours were very subtle and dark - which I really liked, similar to Road To Perdition; although Road To Perdition won an oscar for best cinematography - which is very evident.

Anyway, I saw the film and I was a little disappointed but only because of the story.

Bought the dvd and watched the movie again for the second time last night.

I liked it better than when I caught it in the theater, mainly because there were no annoying people texting and talking throughout. Not a great film, but a solid period piece that I'm happy to add to my Victorian collection.
