Hey mate, Jerri from Schott actually got back to me. She said it was a ‘98–‘05 jacket made from lightweight cowhide in black or brown, even sent a sizing chart which was nice. Seems the jacket is on the uncommon side now because of the production date.

I did come across this scan of a page in an old Schott catalog. It doesn’t really offer any new information, unfortunately.

Compared to what I’ve been reading here I must be in the minority. I really like type iii jackets and own several. I found that the Aero type III did not fit very well - too boxy - I had one specially made for me 46 top, 44 bottom - that looked kind of screwy and I had my leather tailor correct it as best she could. The result looks decent. I do have a Schott that I like but it is not as tapered as their perfecto types - so my tailor is adjusting it also to match the weight I just lost. Last year I got a custom jacket from Thedi (I had the collar cut down from what is on the Website) that looks great -so great that I ordered another in a different color/leather. Theodoros is going to add hand pockets to the second one. His jackets also have industrial zippers versus buttons or snaps which I really like. A few years I also bought an indigo Y2K trucker type jacket. That jacket looks great but a little tight - been cutting back on the groceries and the fit is almost there. This is a really super looking jacket. My 2 cents..
