Two Recent Aquisitions . . .

I picked up two beautiful hats recently . . .

The first, a Knox Twenty . . . a real beauty . . . and get this, a Cav Edge.

The second is a truly nice Byer Rolnick Homburg . . .

Both were great deals, and were found on-line . . .
Now the sad truth . . . the Knox (which is to die for) is a 7 1/8th and simply doesn't fit me . . . I could have it resized, but then you would lose the incredible sweat, etc . . . and it would cost me money I really do not have.

As for the Homburg . . . it is a 7 3/8ths and fits . . . But I realize that, as nice as the hat is, I will almost never wear a homburg. I am a casual hat kind of guy. I thought about rebashing it as a fedora, but I think that is probably a waste . . . it will never look as good as it does as a Homburg, and someone out there would love it as it is . . .

I could sell them myself . . . but instead I am thinking of opening up a swap shop. I figure that someone out there is going to have a few hats that would suit me that they might be willing to trade . . .

Is that the homburg that you got for $18.53? I picked up a brown one for just about the same price. There have been several show up in various colors for around that price range. I don't wear mine often, but at that price it is fun to keep around.

Looking to start a Swap Shop . . .

Several folks have contacted me about "buying" both of these hats . . .

As for selling, I am in a quandry . . . I beleive that the Knox is certainly worth as much as any modern Borsalino . . . and they can go for upwards of $500. But I would have no idea how much to actually sell it for.

And the Byer Rolnick Homburg is pretty special as well . . .

That is why I thought swapping would be a good idea. Everyone has picked up a nice hat or two, but for whatever reason . . . they have one just like it, the fit just isn't right, the size is wrong . . . it is just gathering dust. So I thought I would see who would like to TRADE . . .

If anyone is interested, let me know and I will supply you with my "wish-list" . . . Perhaps you have something in a 7 3/8ths that would make me as happy as the Knox or the Homburg would make you . . .

Or perhaps you have your own items you would like to swap . . . post them.

I wasn't suggesting that modern Borsos were worth $500 . . . But look at some shops, which retail Borso Beavers for that kind of price . . .

It is indeed the "fedora" I picked up in January . . .
$18.53 plus shipping. Not a bad deal, in my book.
