Amazing

It is amazing how many historical artifacts the Navy Historical Museum in D.C. has. They have items from every U.S. Navy ship ever commissioned. They also get any captured enemy items. When a U.S. Navy ship decommissions the museum gets certain items from that ship for storage in the archives. Every year Navy commands also have to submit the history of the ship for that year. I guess that way they have a accurate history of every ship. I visited the Naval Academy and they have the Nazi flag from the U-505 on loan from the Navy Historical Museum.
