Champ Featherweight

Crown - 4 1/4” as creased
Brim - 2 3/16”
1960’s, I believe.

This hat arrived in mint condition. I don’t think it was factory creased, but it just kind of creased itself as shown.

I don’t know if the feather is original or not, but I assume that it is. It just makes sense.

It's a great find and a lovely hat. They tend to come with a teardrop crown, like this one.

Six months since a Champ post! ? That ends TODAY!
(I coulda been a contender)

Champ head duck.jpeg
Classic "head duck" shot to feature the bash
Champ three quarter.jpeg
Champ Duncan
1.5"brim
2" grosgrain ribbon
5" crown measured from side, maybe a 1/4" shorter at front
Champ coin pin..jpg

Pin looks like the reverse of an old half-dollar, but is smaller than a half dime.

Great tip. I cut out the plastic, it was greasy.

Can't be too new, they were still putting blocking and 'to duplicate' numbers on the factory tag. There was also a half-ripped tag revealing it to be a Duncan model.
And here it is after I steamed in a couple of side dents.

Happy Mother's Day!

Nice looking Champ. Looks good on you. I believe that tag is a 60s HCA tag. Enjoy it!

What....you did not keep the mud wasp cells???? You could have cut the ends off and stuck cigarettes in them, add Three matches in the ribbon and one upped Fouquet! Bobquet, I can see it now!;)

A Champ Diplomat I bought last year, 2 5/8 brim. Color is Harmony Blue. It appears like new.

SKY CHAMP

Found this poor beat up orphan awhile back.
Not sure if this is a Champ or not. Champ did make a Sky Champ but the ads don’t look anything like this one.

Way too small for me at 7 1/8, pretty beat up, but pretty unique. Send me a PM if you’re interested in adopting him just cover the shipping.

Hmm. Interesting…. Looks like Champ’s ‘Sky Champ’ was their take on the Stratoliner. The sweat stitching is reminiscent of early Champ. It is possible it could have been a “pre Champ” LaSalle offering.
