"Uncontested - The Champ"

Here is another of those "feather weight" Champs I have. This one I would guess earlier 50's, and differs in the brim width at 2 5/8" (wider than the 2 1/2' of the my other above) and has a different tip protector AND label (it has a separate cloth tip label UNDER a textured and bordered plastic cover. This one is a nice fawn color.. (First photo is indicative of the color). These realy are very thin lightweight felt.

Here is my Champ 'Winston' in medium grey with Kasmir Finish. I have a few stingies that I like to wear, and this is one of them. I am really attracted to the orange liner in this one.

Here is my next, a Champ Triumph. The color is a mustard brown in genuine beaver felt. Another orange liner in this one, but not nearly as bright as my Winston. Super Sonic Edge on the sweat. It still has the wind trolley, feather, and came with a cool pin on the ribbon. Marked as 7-1/4, but measures to 7-1/8, which makes it wearable for me.

My most recent find is a Circle C Brand western by Champ. The silver belly leans warm on this one and I love the thin silver / sage ribbon. This was a Canyon County Sheriff (Idaho) issued hat, which is my neighboring county. I purchased the hat from the deputy's daughter, who told me he had worked for the Sheriff's Office in the 60' and 70's. I love the Canyon County Sheriff Posse stamp on the sweat.

The hat had a lot of sweat stains, some of which I'm still working to remove (underside in the rear). The liner and sweatband were also heavily stained, but that was removed fairly easily.

The shape was mostly intact, but I restored some flaws on the crown back to the original shape. The brim was a steep, thin taco shape, which I mellowed out and widened at the front. It has a 3" brim and 4.75" crown at it's highest points as creased. The western weight felt is nice and soft, but holds it's shape really well. Pictured next to my Resistol Fort Worth from the same era for comparison.

I love the red liner. I own a Jackson county, MO Deputy Sheriff’s Resistol Posse that I bought under similar circumstances.
I just searched yours. Very nice. I was expecting to see a similar style. I really like the moss green, bound edge, and Sheriff's logo on the liner.

Yes. the red liner is fantastic! My Ft Worth is one of my favorite hats, so I'm happy to have it's cousin now. I especially love a hat with history.
