I have an older model E with the older snaps (poppers) and I bought a mouton collar second hand off the ‘Bay and it has the newer poppers, so not compatible.

I reached out to Vanson to swap the snaps out for me, but they wanted me to send in both the jacket and the collar, so I’ve put it off.

No idea why they changed but it could be cost or availability or venders, any number of things.

I have some sport rider jackets and pants that were made in different times and they don’t zip together like they’re supposed to. The zippers are just a little different design and they can’t mate up.

I have a pile of small things that I’d love to address but I live in New York with family in MA, so really I should pack a suitcase of leather and walk it into their shop in Fall River.
Lol or meet me in new York in October and see if the collar fits my newer model E,,:)

I’m planning on ordering an enfield soon and was leaning toward getting it without the wind flap.

I don’t ride and would mostly be wearing it as an everyday jacket so I figured the flap wasn’t really necessary. Before I finalize things, I wanted to check if there are any downsides to going without it that I might not be thinking of.

Given that you have no plans to ride, I would also omit the wind flap.

I omitted it from the halfbelt version we made for my shop and don’t miss it one bit

I'm considering "omitting" it from the jackets that still have it in my possession.

Yes, delete. You don´t need it off the bike, and the jacket looks sleeker without it. Plus, no windflap won´t get in the way, zipping it up.

Another vote for deleting the windflap. I think you'll have a better experience without it.

Stunning and yet subtle Abyss blue shift on the black. How was the Thurston Bros process? Curious about measuring for the waist with the adjustable side straps?

I agree with others -- omit the wind flap if you don't ride. I did the same for custom jackets before I got a bike and prefer the more minimalist look. However, now that I ride, I wish I had them.
