Bogie rides the street car in “Dark Passage” with the
Owl Drug Co. in the background. (San Francisco 1947)
In the late 60s.
I visited San Francisco on a weekend pass from my military base
n
ear Merced, Calif.
I recall helping to turn that streetcar around on Powell St.

I don't remember if the Owl Drug Co. was there at the time.

  • The Street Car
  • The roundhouse thingy the Street Car turns around on

Not too many people paid attention, though -- Westinghouse had a robot that could smoke a cigarette.

If I glanced at this pic quickly, I would have dated it as being much more recent than '39. It must have really looked futuristic back then.
