At the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles in 1935, two men from different generations came together - teenage actor Mickey Rooney, 14 years old, and veteran performer Will Rogers, 55 years of age. Considering the bow is on the wrong side of the crown of that hat, and the coat buttons are on the wrong side as well, I'd guess the photographer accidentally or intentionally "flopped' the negative before he made that print. That, or it's actually a little girl. Still a great photo!
