  4. My personal favorite is the sign at the curb that says, "Stop here good eatin'".

I had a couple Falcons, and a couple Corvairs, too. Had better luck with the Falcons. Damn near died in a Corvair when an uninsured a**hole ran a stop sign at speed and hit me square on the driver’s side. Side-impact protection? Unheard of then.

That's from my town. Torn down in the 70s and the site is now what some of us still indelicately call "an old ladies' home."

One of my first jobs was at Burgerville in H.S. As a matter of fact my dad created their tarter sauce and I used to make it at the factory he worked at. It has since gone down hill quality wise, the chain is still great though.

More importantly, you have a good tarter sauce recipe? Care to share?

A cheese shop shaped like a cheese wheel with a cute mouse perched on top eating a piece of cheese; the Fading Fast would drive 100 miles (at least) out of their way to go there.

Seriously, how difficult could that have been for them? I mean, it's not the "family name" they wanted on the building, but...

According to Wikipedia, the family name was Wetanson. They probably couldn't afford the bigger buildings it would take to get the extra letters on.

Worse, they had clown mascots named "Wetty" and "Sonny."
