Hate to be a wet blanket, but I want to say, "don't hold your breath." This particular sliver of vintage clothesways - fun, fashionable, familiar, and FEMALE - is much more accessible, and acceptable, to the general public than the rest.

Go any further - homestyle, collectibles, pop culture, "lifestyle vintage," and the last frontier: men's clothing - and the public has to start understanding the thing on different levels, which few are able, let alone willing, to do. Is it costume? roleplay? gender-bending? counterculture? <shudder>

Well, you have to take what you can get here. I live in the land of Wal-Mart, Target and every other big box chain store you can think of. Most everything that is not "normal" or safe here is pushed aside to make room for the next big thing.
