Just a couple of shots of a Dyer I picked up a while ago.
The color doesn't seem so blotchy in real life. Might be the lighting IDK.
Heavy Duty. Love this jacket.

The more time I spend with this WD the more I like it. These styles are usually made in thin, cheap cow or worse, lamb. This thing is an absolute tank, dutifully tailored and the color is gorgeous. I really like the funky WD styles. They are harder to come by but so incredibly cool. This guy was a boss. No doubt this is my daily driver this fall.

Walter Dyer jackets are no joke. The maker didn't skimp on any aspect of the product.

There was a NOS Walter Dyer jacket for sale here in Perth Western Australia.

From an "alternative" clothing outfitter, guy had boots , belts and other leather items.

It was listed for a coupla years, a coupla years back. I will see if I can dig it up.

POST EDIT , can't be found at the minute on local classifieds. It was I seem to remember a now closed retail shop where the retired guy was selling from home

Just taken a punt on this - anyone have any idea roughly how old it may be?

Probably 80’s. Great hide. Thanks to an insanely generous gift from @Yamahana I just took ownership of this vest with the same label.

I also picked up two WD car coats.

I absolutely love them. Make no mistake WD IS leather. Few modern makers match the hide and tailored excellence of WD. One thing is for certain, you will not be disappointed!

Vintage Walter Dyer was everything you say. Late Walter Dyer was merely average quality. Love that golden jacket on you, and that vest fits perfectly. Nice pickups!

Thanks - I actually came across it because of your recent posts showing off the car coats. They’re fantastic.

So, this Vintage Walter Dyer is a bit smaller for me overall, but what is so odd is it goes on easily and is just a tad short torso & sleeves. But it's some of the most amazing leather I have handled. Has a "cedar chest" odor to it, not atypical for a 1960's jacket as this one most likely is. Hand warmer pockets are leather lined (so nice!) The sleeve linings at the ends are a bit worn down, and the #5 Talon main zip is (appearing original) is in good shape. However it may eventually need a #8 or even #10 if it ever fails. I actually love wearing it even though just a little small.

Dimensions are:
Pit to Pit - 23"
Shoulders - 19.5"
Back length - 23"
Torso - 24.75
Sleeve - 24"
Waist - 21"

So dimensionally it is not far off, couple about pass as a "44" and I just would like to find an identical jacket in a 44L or even 46L dimensionally. Ideally in this same dark brown steerhide that is super grainy.

Sounds like you found a custom 42” short Randy.
Thinking back, my version of this jacket carried a size 42” stencil and was a actually a bit bigger and certainly longer. So many of these jackets were custom made. I try to find those with the handwritten tag size. Harder to find but more standard in terms of length for sure.

I should’ve kept this one. Getting a bit harder to find.
