I don't see many people wearing hats at all. In warm weather, what do you wear with your fedoras?

I'm talking about just driving to the store for groceries, or going to Micky D's.

It varies.... with something cut like a blazer, I like a wide brimmed Fedora like my Federations. With a shorter, more casual jacket I often still would go for a fedora, but with a brim around 2". Somehow the shorter brim looks better to me with the higher cut jacket. [huh]

I'm still wearing felt on and off here, depening on the weather. The Akubra Riverina I bought and did the Safari mod on (elongated the side dents, wrapped my own pugaree) that a lot of us went for a while back, is getting quite a lot of wear at present. In fact, it's about to go off to China with me for a fortnight's holiday. I'm not much of a one for wearing my Panama with a casual ensemble, but that might change as the heat goes up. If I'm going very casual, I have a couple of caps which are contemporary manufacture but much more akin to the military caps of the fifties (short, 2" bill, cylindrical shape to the body, not domed like a ball cap) in heavy cotton that I'll throw on. Normally I'd prefer one of my wool flatcaps, but it's gotten too warm for those. I am also keping an eye out for a deal on a couple of linen flatcaps.

I have what I refer to as "casual fedoras" such as the "cyber" by Goorin Brothers (which I'm wearing in my avatar), and the "Mannes" by Bailey (which is straw). I wear these with jeans and a t-shirt, or even shorts as they are not the formal "ribbon" fedoras like I would wear with a suit. Nothing wrong with wearing a fedora with jeans and tshirt, or shorts and a tshirt... though I probably wouldn't wear a dress felt fedora with shorts... but that's just me.

I don't wear shorts except to swim. But I otherwise wear any and all of my fedoras with any clothes I own. I think any lid can be worn with anything and make it look better. When you are the only one wearing a fedora whose to say you are wearing it wrong[huh] lol

I'm about the only person around where I live who wears a fedora too. What do I wear with it? Pretty much whatever I happen to have on. I just like wearing it. I wore it around the house in my dressing-gown to help break it in, and I now wear it around town wearing jeans and a t-shirt or whatever.

People stare sometimes, but that's their problem, right?

Wear it with whatever you feel comfortable in. And if in doubt, wear really big sunglasses to hide behind!
