I didn’t know Disney was into the hat game.

Not the Disney you're thinking of. Look at the Disney Diner thread here.

I had exactly the same thought the first time I saw a "Disney" hat lol
That said…. The last time I visited Walt Disney World there was a display window in one of the Main Street shops set up with vintage Disney Hats boxes. And it had me wonder if the designer didn’t know the distinction or did and thought it cool anyway. (BTW.. Depending on the visit, the hat silhouetted in the reflection may also be a Disney 15)

And her I was thinking that the timing didn't really work out for a "Stetson v. Stetson"-like lawsuit. Guess if you wait long enough you can appropriate your namesake.

We are in the middle of moving, the stress levels are worse than a bad day at work. The Susquehana is today's choice to wear to a couple of meetings. First up with the agents who are selling the home that we plan to buy and then, later on, Tina and I need to go over the legalities with our legal eagle.
But it's not all house move, stress and pain. A call from the organisers of, what promises to be, a spectacular show on Saturday, texted me to say our tickets can be collected.
Saturday is, as if our American cousins needed reminding, the fourth of July. And we are off to an American inspired jolly:

My sympathies for the stress, Robert. Moving is one the greatest ordeals I've ever encountered, and it just gets worse as we get older.

I bought this Doria Panama a couple years ago...it's been a diamond crown with lots of rake, a tear drop, today a simple center crease.

Last week I saw a Croched Raffia fedora in a boutique on the Turkish Riviera. I remarked to my wife that İ thought it look hip, like a bohemian panama alternative. The weave was stamped from Madagascar and the hat was produced in Paris at La Chapellerie De Punta En Blanco. My wife really thought it looked like me.

Next day she comes home with it!!!

It really needed a reshaping...here it is after a couple hours of steaming and as my wife says, "Hat Whispering " View attachment 792296 View attachment 792295 View attachment 792294 View attachment 792299
Turns out the info at the shop in Turkey was off. That raffia from Madagascar is not that at all...De Punta En Blanco in Paris doesn't even offer such a hat. This hat is s Panama hat made in Equador but the Toquilla palm straw was crochet. So its a Crochet Panama hat made in Equador. I have noticed a distinct lack of floppiness. This guy holds its shape. I steamed it and ironed it back into shape from being smashed im storage at the shop. But it was very easy to work with.

The Doria panama is a cuenca weave and much much tighter, therefore better sun protection but thiz croched Panama is so light snd airy...it's kind of irresistible. A bit of a cunundrum. Where the croched before 10:00am and after 4:00pm...during those hours; wear it but look for shady areas, lol!!
