For a flaming clam neck tie is outrageous!
I think it's the general public's fear of being not-PC.
Better to be seen with a row of flaming clams than a flaming drunk on your tie?

As for the snakeskin tie I think the type of person that would wear that is someone who looks like one of the henchmen of Edward G.Robinson in "Key Largo". Very mobster.
