Too much caffeine

interferes with normal operation of the Meatbox.

Right now it's stuck on tempo=manic (E.J. Mellinger's Rag played by a demented orchestrion from the movie Reds) and genre=grotesque (For Me and My Gal sung by Judy Garland with enough tranqs in her system to kill Janis Joplin).

Both are flashbacks to a childhood in a house full of show tunes.

One of my favorite Depression tunes. The jazz snobs may sneer at Ramona, but I've never heard a vocal of hers I didn't like.

Thanks, Lizzie! :) I shouldn't consider myself a 'jazz-snob', I just like oldies.

Listening to:

Anton Karas - "The Harry Lime Theme".

not vintage at all, but still cool. The sountrack from 'From dusk 'till dawn' but only the music (not the spoken stuff) .. I find it is much more pleasant when it's turned up really loud and I'm vacuuming.. LOL

The Original Dixieland Jazz Band - "Margie" (Rec. 1920).

My little Margie! I'm always thinking of you, Maaargie,
I'll tell the world I love you,
Don't for-get your promise to me,
I have bought the home-and-ring-and-every-thing,
For little Margie! You are my inspiration,
Days are never blue!

After all is said and done,
There is really only one, Oh!
Margie, Margie, it's you!
