My new favourite old song; "It Only Happens When I Dance with You".

I recently unearthed the piano bench to our digital piano after my sweetheart Tom helped me to bring in the digital piano on the 24th from the garage, where it had been languishing for over a year. My ds and I had practically given up on finding the piano bench.

This original sheet music was in the piano bench. Where or when I bought this sheet music, I no longer remember. I presented it along with other pieces of old sheet music to Tom as a special Christmas present. I learned this song from watching this video. I sang it to Tom on Christmas Day as I presented him with the sheet music. These lyrics are perfect suited for the way I feel about dancing in his arms *smile*.

Pauline Reese -- Don't Leave Me Standing Here

Don't leave me standing here
Wanting to hold you, dear
If I can't have you near
I'll be falling apart
You tell me have no fear
And you sound so sincere
But if I can't have you, dear
I'll be falling apart

I don't want to lose you
We've worked too hard to stay
And I just can't face the thought
Of you going away
Let's work this together
As we have in the past
Just one can tear love apart
It takes two to make it last

Why oh why?
Can't we work this out?
Don't you know
That's what love is all about

Don't leave me standing here
Wanting to hold you, dear
If I can't have you near
I'll be falling apart
You tell me have no fear
And you sound so sincere
But if I can't have you, dear
I'll be falling apart
So don't take your love, my dear
You'll be breaking my heart

great song choice, Connery- but McPhee's version is too bouncy and out of breath for me. I prefer to hear (and sing ala') Ella's classic rendition:

I listened to that one but it did not have it for me. I was also thinking Lena Horne, but, I just like McPhee's approach.:)

Three or four Vic n' Sade's, followed by The Alice Faye- Phil Harris Show (brought to you by Rexall). Phil promises the girls a visit from Santa Claus and must dig up a reasonable facsimile. I'm listen to this in a desperate attempt to prolong Christmas.
