Thanks RBH. It came in new shape but I knew it would be a 'chores' hat and it was just too perfect and roundy. I had to sort of break down that brim a little in order to like it. I also had to replace that Godawful band with weird buckle arrangement. I pick up leather belts at thrift stores for 50 cents or a buck and make them into bands for my westerns.

Don't know much about it really, other than it's called a "SeaSpray" Straw and it's shellacked and waterproofed. I forgot to mention that it does have a leather sweat as well..... [huh]

that is the actual color, I suppose the shellac caused it to yellow like that. [huh]
