Great hat! But what I really like is Central Park in Fall - but I don't see much change in the leaves yet. What's up wit' dat?

Mr.Lucky it was close to 80 degrees here today. This was a view from Riverside Park in the 90s. The leaves have not yet decided to turn just yet[huh]

Dman that Borso looks great on you.

Thanks Alan, I like the cut but the fabric is not great.

Got this of Ebay about a month ago and have been wearing it almost every day to work. (I can wear what I want, being self employed). I have never heard of or seen this brand before so I took a chance. I really like it. Soft, thin and light felt but has just enough body. Anybody know anything about this brand?

Razzman . . . the Fedora is an Art Fawcett original, and one of the finest hats I have had the pleasure to own . . . 5 inch crown, 2 5.8 inch bound brim. It is "natural" beaver, and the ribbon is a matching 1 inch vintage ribbon from Mr Fawcetts collection, with a red flashing . . .
No denying the hat is a masterpiece . . .

Great lid, Mingoslim. Is that Rothenburg ob der Tauber in the background?

Cheers,
JtL

Jimmy . . . I am embarrassed to say I do not know if the painting is of Rothenburg or not . . . it is by Anatole Krasnyansky . . . and if you haven't seen his art before, I highly recommend you look him up. Marvelous work!

Trying to post pics is getting frustrating--nothing I am trying is working!

AG, I'll be darned if I can figure it out.

At first the problem appears to be that you're trying to use the URL of the page your photos are on instead of the location of just the photo. Here is the URL of your photo, obtained by doing a right-click on the photo and picking "Properties."

http://lh4.google.com/AkubraGuy/RxeaFFOIN0I/AAAAAAAAAEs/sYz0pmV_HoM/100_1112.JPG?imgmax=512

I haven't used Picassa yet so I don't know if there is an easier way like there is in Photobucket to get that address.

Anyway, normally you copy that link and go back to your draft post. Put the curser where you want the photo to be, then use the mouse pointer to select the Insert Image button (one with mountains.) Past the address in the box that comes up.

What you get in the draft then is the URL with the
tags on either end, and it should display the photo. Instead I just get the URL displayed. Very odd.

100_1112.JPG

No clue as to why. Perhaps a Picassa thing?

With Photobucket you simply click on the IMG link under your photo and it's copied; you then paste it where you want the photo to be in the reply.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! But, for what it's worth, it is a heck of a nice hat! :eusa_clap :D :eusa_clap

Cheers,
Tom

As always, such incredible hats!

Bud, what a great hat... and even nicer pin! Love that trout!

Douglas, great hats as usual--and the other photos are terrific! I like the Mallory's color, but I can see what you mean about the taper. Still, very nice. :eusa_clap

Funneman, great first photo. The tie sure complements a very nice hat!:eusa_clap

Heck... I can't keep up with all the great hats you ladies and gentlemen are wearing these days!

And thanks for the kind words, Razzman, RBH, indycop, apipeguy, Jimmy!

The fish was, as always, wonderful. Can't beat fresh fish grilled next to the river they were swimming in! Fortunately we did catch enough for lunch, but it really was very slow this year. I only caught a couple of half-pounder steelhead (AKA "lunch fish" lol ) but my godson and each of his brothers managed to catch a large (between 10-13 pounds) native steelhead. My buddy did catch a salmon, but that was pretty much it for four days.

Still, we saw a golden eagle, a bald eagle, a black bear, otters (chowing down on a huge salmon!) and a beaver lodge. Weather wasn't bad, either. A great time! :D

Cheers,
Tom

PS Wore the Batsakes again today. I'm the type who'll wear a brown hat with a grey sport coat. In this case, I was also wearing tan trousers so it balanced out. ;) Forgot to take a photo, though.

It does rather look like Rothenburg, doesn't it? Lovely town. Been a while since I've been there (like almost 15 years, now that I think about it! ) I'm afraid the McDonalds didn't add any charm to the place, but at least they made an effort to make it blend in.

Cheers,
Tom

Douglas: everyhat you wear is a feast for the eyes to view. Thank you for the joy they bring by your photos!

AkubraGuy: Your hat has the look I really appreciate, the ribon is about as wide as I like to have them, but the crown and brim shaping really comes togther with that one. Good one!

Barb: Are you a Red Hat Club member? Good color and style choice!

Dinerman: I'd like to just type "ditto" for what I wrote about Douglas' hats, yours are simply sublime in their classic, vintage, and stylish presentations!

funneman: Great grey fedora with wide ribbon! Looks natural on you!

Bud: Good to see your DGO, and thank you for your willingness to post a picture! The way BCF is going, there won't be anymore of those DGOs unless I can find another source. They're fun to add ribbon, bow, bound edge and crease style to.

RBH: Yours was my first, and I wish I could redo the brim binding, because I think I did better on Bud's. Tighter stitches worked best. It was a learning process. You look very good in it. Water shouldn't hurt it, since you probably treated it. It claims to be Fur Felt anyway. You look sharp to me in it. Thanks for that picture.

Another COOL day in Cen-Tex

deserves another cool hat. Cool weather like this is very unusual for this area, 54 this morning. Like a good boyscout one must be prepared. A brown Borsalino should do just fine. :)

Mingoslim's wallhanger appears to be Anatole Krasnyansky's "Rothenburg Sieber Tower, Bavaria." It is a rendition of perhaps the city's most famous view.

For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to to experience Rothenburg ob der Tauber be sure to put it on your "to do" list, along with the rest of the region's "Romantic Road.".

(The middle image looks to be approximately where the painter would have set up his easel.)

The day started off cold, and got really hot.

I was wearing a reproduction 1940's sweater set, but by mid-day I was sweltering.

Here I am kicking back at the coffee shop in the doggie area. My pup is somewhere close by.

I'm wearing my $8.00 hat from Strawberry.

Wow! Thanks!

Thanks Vintage Betty, Razzman, Mr. Lucky, JT, Tango Yankee, RBH and deanglen. I'm flattered by such kind words from such a distinguished group. Everyone else's hats are awesome.

And since you asked, here's one for the thin ribbon lovers. A Penny's Marathon.

Here's my pup (can you believe no one said anything in the Pet area?) :rage:
