Following the wake of some distinguished gentlemen here these past few days, I chose a Whippet too... its colours go great with earth-hued ensembles.

Distinguished eh? You must be referring to SuitedCowboy, BobC, and Mr. P....

Yes, I do believe that Whippet you are wearing is the same colors as my tan one. It's hard to tell but it may be that the felt and binding colors are reversed on the two hats... or maybe not. [huh]

Very well done as usual, Torp!

This afternoon I wore my reworked Akubra Federation. [reworked this afternoon]
I had Mike Moore cut the brim to 2 5\8s and sew a 6 lign bound edge on it.
I wanted a Aviator style hat and have named this one The Spruce Goose.
It was good I had a pin with that on it.:D

Looks super, Torp. That brim seems to be narrower than most of the whippets I've seen, or is the angle I'm seeing it from?

your green Buckeroo has a very Gucci-esqu hat band.

Gucci-esque?

Thank you to all of you gentlemen. the striped ribbon gives this one a touch of uniqueness. I wore it again today to a family Christmas party. I thought the green and burgundy were pretty close to Christmas colors.

You're most welcome, Bob! That Whippet looks great on you. I am a huge fan of the gray ribbon on gray felt look -- and the combo on your lid is fantastic. Whippet proportions changed over the years, but this one really has the classic crown proportions. [Incidentally, as gtdean noted, I did move the brim break back toward the rear of the hat a bit ;)].

Congrats on a terrific vintage lid.

Cheers,
JtL

I love what you did with this one, Jimmy, and every one. But that was well established before I sent it. ;)

elvisroe, Matt, Mr Tutt, Bart and Bob, thanks for the kind words!
This was a hat that did not really get much wear from me, but now I think it will give some of the thin ribbons a run for the money!

Looking good, R. I'm a bit envious that you live close enough to Mike to drive over for a Saturday afternoon.

You need to move closer! :D
Needless to say.. I did not wear this one long. The brim was a little wider than I favor. :)
The guy Mike made it for is 6'7'' and it fit him perfect!

The hat RBH had on was a 10X Whiskey hat, we made for a really big man, the hat had a 4 3/4" brim on it, was like shaping a large trash can lid, Rusty had to try it on, to see if he wanted his next hat with a wide brim.

We had fun this afernoon while he stopped by the shop, matter of fact the shop was full of customers this morning when he got there, was about 30 mins before I even got to speak to him.

Told him grab the tape measure and see who you can help with a hat!!!!

That hat would be perfect on Rusty with a 3.5 or 4 inch brim!
