Jeff, It was chilly down there last week, thus the sweater and fur felt hat. If it warms up, a nice straw should do you fine. If I wear a fur felt down South, it's usually a thin ribbon.

Here's one of my seasonal beaters. Even though the hat is dirty and repeatedly sweat soaked and knocked about, it continues to hold up really well.

That Panama hat has a very fine weave to be considered a beater. I'm afraid to ask what your good hats look like!
