Very interesting hats in this first autumn weekend

Here in NorthEast Italy it is raining with some spot sun
I visit my father in the mountains this morning

NOS Tirard "tweed" French made in the fifties

The clouds are coming from the high peaks with some rain

The felt of the Tirard is medium dendity and an example of "heather".
Rare to find in these days as available finishing in the hats market

This morning I am putting hats worn this week back into boxes or on shelves. It struck me that I recalled a couple hats from a Stetson advertisement I have seen in a 1941 Saturday Evening Post copy. Sure enough the vtg. Stetson Whippet and Vogue were paired in a printed ad. (BTW: Whippet grey felt and Vogue green felt.)

74 years later than the advertisement I wear the same hats, but no how, no way do I dress that sharp. I need to up my game if I am inspired by the ad.

This morning in the cool 39'F temps I was comfy in my Filson and a Lee Adventurer.

Brunch is not just a meal. It is a social gathering, a happening. My wife and I went out to meet friends for brunch earlier. I took a pic of my vtg. Stetson Homburg that I wore. It got lots of attention at our local restaurant.

The dogs and I are heading out for a walk. I need to walk the brunch effects off and the dogs are just great companions. My vtg.Stetson is my walk hat of choice.
