Great looking hat: check. Shark gill bow: check. Sunshine: check. Looks like all the boxes for a good day were ticked, Jim!
That ribbon work is top shelf.
Great look. How wide is the brim?

John if you are so good in build hats, I will send you some felts for mine, soon or laterToday, Earl (moe-riginal No. 9) gets another afternoon in the sun. Until the wind kicks up another MPH or two, that is, then it'll be a bowler day.
Special day with two hats, one to go to my studio and one to return.
The special occasion was suggested by a conversation we made with Steve during his stay in Verona in October. The topic was: "Everyday hats" that have been saved from the daily use of users with little money in their pockets and one or two hats to wear up to consumption.
Steve found medium and low-priced hats in the Central European markets before World War II and some later, quite new and some used, so we can see not only high end hats, but also the usual that is really interesting.
Today, putting my collection in place, I noticed these two Barbisio, which are from the historical production of Sagliano Micca's house in the 60s. Interesting is that they come from a small shop in a town a few miles from Ferrara, so not a town and they are for not so rich people.
They are very similar, almost identical and destinated to workers or men of low social class. The price was half of a Borsalino.
The morning hat is a Barbisio "Qualità Super" called "Semiruvido" due to the presence of wool mixed with fur that gives the surface of the felt a wrinkled appearance
The ribbon is the same color "Cufra" as the felt as well as the one that trim the brim
The midday hat is always a Barbisio without particular information on quality
The color of the felt is "Daino" and the ribbon color "Talpa", while the ribbon that trim the brim is the same color of the felt
This at the touch is slightly less wrinkled than the brown one. They are two hats of equal proportions and of the same price category
They arrived until these days new to be used only some days in a year
Thanks for the like and have a nice Saturday
Another cool combination with that jacket, Harv.
You do, but watch yourself: they are addictive!Very stylish, Stefan. Need to get myself a Homburg!

Lovely hats, Daniele! May have been everyday hats when they were made, but I'd guess they match up with just about anything that is made today.Special day with two hats, one to go to my studio and one to return.

Still not sure about the feathers, but that brim curve sure gets me!The Cavanagh Huggie Bear got it's first exposure to the public today. The crowd did not seem to notice much, I slid silently through the throngs unscathed. Some successful selfies. Still scared of that tapatalk thingie.

I've tried to select a bunch of posts for a multiquote response. For whatever reason, I keep screwing it up.
@Frunobulax ... Mr. Saturday is dead. LONG LIVE MR. SATURDAY. That hat is just killer. The crease... Well... THE CREASE!
Enjoy, all.

There is some space between them, but not a lot.

Another amazing homburg Matt. It looks like a Julius or a Garfinkel you should name it.Unknown maker sold out of Julius Garfinkel & Co. in DC.
Now I'm gonna get out there and Saturday the hell out of this day. Hope that each of you do, too.
