That is my kind of hat! I love the velour tyrolean-types. I've been looking for that color for a long time. I think the cream colored band is what really makes it stand out.

Yep Jim thats 'The Dallas'. Man this hat has some thin felt.

But one thing... the bow is stitched high on the side. Well above the brim break. Has anyone else noticed this?
Or is this only with my Mallory? [huh]

I hear ya. I think that the Mallory Pliafelt is really pretty extraordinary -- extremely dense, lightweight and smooth.

Today was a double-hatter. Daytime saw one of my Stetson Medalist Eagles:

At night I switched over to a Brodt's Homburg which Bolthead sent to me in trade for one of my fedoras. Thanks Bolt!

Dobbs

Brown Dobbs, overwelt. The welt on this hat has been glued rather than stitched. It has been sanded and squared off to give a really neat appearance. It was perhaps a compromise between a regular stitched welt and a more expensive cavanagh edge. I think this is my favorite edge treatment, even more so than the cav edge. 1 7/8" brim.

Harp: darned nice styling on that Medalist, and the homburg paired up with those round specs is spot on!
