Thanks all, for the reception to that jacket! I had fun doing it.

The only times I use varnish are when I want to tint it to wash over the image for a yellowed, older look - or when I use a gloss varnish on key areas as in just the airplane to make it shiny for effect only. The acrylic paint I use sticks like glue to the jackets, sheds water like the plastic it is, and wears like a pig's nose. No real need to coat it with anything.

I think I am going to sell a number of the hats I have but don't wear and replace them with a smaller number of choice hats. Those Barbisios have me looking in that direction for one (at least)
