Took the opportunity to take some updated pics of my Cockpit WWII AVG tribute jacket for the Ebay ad. Great Leather Blood Chit by Sean Collins.
Got my HWm(ayne) back from Dena today with the relocated belts. As usual she did a perfect job. Def more in my wheel house now. Essentially feels like a Sheene/CR with belts (something I always wished Aero would do). My only regret is that I didn’t do this to my premier HWM. I would’ve kept it if I had. I know this will upset the purists (sorry Denny!). But I love my new to me Aero Halfbeltwaymayne:
Dude, perfect! Amazing what a little mod like that can do to a HWM. From a boxy cut to an almost CR shaped one. This is now among the best jacket I've seen from you.
^^ So you had Dena move the side adjusters up ~ 3" or so? Looks great to me, like the brown Zip-sleeve HWM here Tony and the front & back yokes are a nice touch.
Barney's New York light weight sheepskin, capeskin. Made in the traditional half-belt style. Perfect for warmer days and cooler evenings. only a medium so sorta small on me.
What is Capeskin anyway a sheep? Sometime they look very wildly grained but this one look smooth, nice discoloration on the back panel looks like steel
Here is a nice explanation. https://www.vintageleatherjackets.o...its-not-lamb-goat-or-common-sheep-skin.23188/
This is my all time favorite. It was a zip sleeve highwayman posted by both GriffDeLaGriff as well as mendlboaz: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/new-aero-zip-sleeve-highwayman-love-it.78379/ that sent me down the leather jacket road. I wonder how the fit would differ from a similarly done Aero Dustbowl?
Thanks fellas. I was really pleased with how the simple relocation of the belts improved the fit. I was worried about it too. You never really know how something like this will turn out but I had a good feeling about it after the Goodgal experiment. Love the jacket. Very basic and super easy to wear. If ever there was a throw on everyday leather jacket, for me anyway, this is it.
