Took a punt on this 1940s goatskin sportclad that was posted in finds and deals. The measurements were spot on for me, but it looked bigger than described, but the price was so low that I figured it was worth the risk.

Glad I did. This jacket is fantastic. Longer than what I normally go for, but its designed that way and I actually quite like it. The leather is ridiculously nice. Feels fresher than any vintage horsehide I've handled.

My guess is maybe some translation issues and perhaps them falling into the trap many do of thinking all leather jackets are motorcycle jackets.

Regardless, single and double riders are stupid terms that we should honestly be trying to stamp out.

I not an expert in jackets origins or history. But this RC jacket worn by @dublinpremium is not a true half belt I believe? The patch on back at half is just an attachment. adjusters are at the bottom of the jacket. See the snap from avenue boss attached. I see this more as a simplified version of Hercules. Also, I think most Japanese makers are calling these kind of jackets 'Single Riders' just based on collar style ignoring other details as you pointed out...

Details aside, its a great jacket
