I'm old enough to remember when fringes were cool. A few months back, I had a nostalgia trip and went on eBay looking for something rock-n-roll.

There were a bunch of these Branded Garment ones on offer and I couldn't resist for $40 US. Like-new leather and beefy talon zips were definitely an added attraction.

I have not seen any of these shown here before, so here's mine.

It's lightweight and possibly even a woman's jacket (I say that because there is no inside pocket), but I love the fit and the pattern is pretty cool.

The leather is substantial and I think it would break in nicely if I ever wore it much out and about. Not sure that I ever will wear it out, but if I did then I might even see some nice graining on this guy.

Fun to wear around the house, at least, put on some Mötley Crüe and relive the hairspray days. :D

I am going to have to disagree. Fringes are not cool. Fringes have never been cool.

Fringes have never been cool.

I'm sure you mean this subjectively but it's a very broad statement and the history of rock and roll would definitely disagree.

The last rock star I remember being famous in fringes was Lenny Kravitz. I have no idea what's cool today or if "cool" even still exists, but he was considered pretty darn cool in the 90s.

The 80s rock bands were not necessarily known for fringes, but showing up to a Van Halen concert in a fringed jacket was definitely not uncool.

And the hippies? Forget about it - fringes were the cutting edge: Hendrix, Joplin, Neil Young, Roger Daltry - those are just the low hanging fruit.

Daltry's Woodstock performance is burned into my mind and I only saw it on the documentary. I can only imagine how cool it was in person.
