"Oversized" Cooper 48 Tall A-2 under 2 fleece jackets. Temps plunging to well below freezing, and a decent breeze. Hat, scarf, and gloves to suit.

Too "warm" for the AN-J-4.

ELC Irvin — worn pretty much nonstop from the latter half of November, through Christmas, and up until now.

At this point I’m basically a walking Eastman Leather Company advert — I get asked about this jacket all the time. I did think about picking up something cheaper for everyday wear, but honestly, a jacket like this deserves to be worn, not saved just for commuting. With current used-market prices for shearling being what they are, it didn’t really make sense anyway.

I originally chose the Irvin mainly for the looks, but the practicality really surprised me. The belt, collar elastic, sleeve zips — all of it gets used regularly.

Special thanks to Karsten and Peter for helping me decide to pull the trigger on this one.

Beautiful jacket! I own two...couldn't choose one color so I got both. The Burgundy one is by far the stiffest jacket I have ever come across. Definitely heirloom material. You got an awesome jacket there !
I have the burgundy one and it is the toughest jacket in my opinion Schott has made it’s finally easy to wear driving in it was rough in the beginning

Happy 2026 loungers!

Braving some post holidays shopping with the wife.

Turns out a 35+ year old Vanson is the perfect piece of winter kit, and I'll be rocking it all the way until spring. In mint condition after all this time. With the quilted liner, a warm shirt layer, and a thermal vest I'm good for just about any cold temperatures.

The part that really stands out to me though is the leather. Strong stuff like you'd expect from Vanson, but at the same time lighter weight and more pliable than anything from them I've tried. Fully layered up and moving around is a breeze!

It's working in real nice. Lucky you, you got the blue tartan lining ! That was my only disappointment with mine...when I ordered it, Schotts website showed the jacket with that blue lining, which I thought was a nice contrast to the all-black outer but when it arrived it had a solid black lining. I considerd returning it but ultimately kept it.

Rainbow Country Highwayman in size 40 Tobacco brown. Just wore it for a bit indoors today, probably my favourite jacket I own. Little more room than I usually wear, probably half size bigger than my frame fits.

To be honest, the blue « tartan » is beautiful but quite a disappointment in a way: I thought it was wool but it’s just a thin cotton, nothing warm. So, I don’t know how thick and warm is yours but it might be a better option.

Looks great! Where did you pick it up? (I might have missed that).
