Today: Legendary Black Stallion - produced by Schott for Legendary. Black Horsehide. This jacket is pretty close to the cut of a Buco J-24. D-Pocket in the front and two map pockets in the back. Somebody also described the back pockets as hand-warmers for the companion.

This has long been on my want list. One of the few Schott jackets worth the cost of admission. Although since they only did two runs of them, very hard to come by, especially in my size. One was on eBay in my size not too long ago but then the bids got out of control in the last half hour and I bowed out. I’m sure if Legendary rapped Schott to do another run of these they would be way too costly now. Anyway yours looks to be in great shape. Love it.

Just arrived, so I had to try it on: Oakbrook D-Pocket jacket, probably from the 60ies. Similar to CHP Jacket. There are two tiny holes on the D-Pocket, could be for a badge -so maybe it was used as a Police jacket at some point. I love how somebody repaired a lost zip puller by hanging a Motorcycle chain link to it. Zippers are all Talon. Needs some Hide Rejuvenator as its a bit dry, but not too bad. If anyone has more info on Oakbrook, happy for any info.

My take on the Oakbrook label. Came in around 1960 looks to be a replacement for the Hercules label. Oakbrook Illinois was the home of Sears in that day hence the name.

The label changed through the years then became the Sears the leather shop label.

They made a lot of this style of motorcycle jacket with the Oakbrook label. I've never seen one other than steerhide. I have not owned one but they look to be very nice. That Oakbrook label went on lots of outerwear. Much of it very nice.

Small police organizations could buy private purchase jackets and put a badge on them. I have an Oak Brook civilian a 2 that had a patch on it, probably a badge

Greetings All:
Today...i decided i was going to wear this at lease once no matter the short sleeves. I’d just roll the cuffs up the way everyone did back in the day. This jacket is so well made and such stellar hide to have such short sleeves for so wide a shoulder. Pity for sure.

That’s the way to do it. With the sleeves rolled up no one is any wiser. Too nice of a jacket not to put on every now and then!
