Finally found the Simmons Bilt jacket I was looking for. Was just about ready to order one new from SB and this one popped up. Thanks to all the FL members that reached out to me on this one.

The best fitting jacket IMHO, with very well done shoulder gussets.

Doesn’t get much better than that! I love the color and texture of that hide… and it fits perfectly. Which leather is that?

A couple of weeks ago on a whim I bought this big coat, sort of a fashion Jeep coat repro. Big shawl collar, double breasted, big cargo pockets. Big coat.

I love a proper Jeep coat but doubts about how much I'd wear it irl always kept me from taking the plunge.

This coat cost next to nothing, so I was happy to risk it. It didn't have a belt, so I picked up a Mil-Tec webbing belt in a close-enough colour for a fiver.

It's interesting and super warm. It's a spacious fit on me but that's what I wanted as I intend to layer. And also I love the whole massive coat vibe.

Thanks! Tan/mid brown is my favorite color range for jackets.

Thanks! It is indeed pony hide. Much lighter than the pony hide on my Seattle Woolen aviator
This was a very popular combination; brown in a light Pony Hide. This was made for you in Southern California. I have a couple of CSC in this same color in Pony and Cape. They were masters of using combinations of pockets on the front design to make several jacket styles.

Breaking in my new Freenote Cloth RJ-2 jacket. It's made of waxed 20oz canvas and lined with incredibly soft shearling. It is a stiff and heavy jacket. But, it's being keeping me warm in Chicago. The last few days it's been around 29°F (-2°C). I'm staying warm. Wish the jacket had storm cuffs and a metal chain to hang it.

I had been watching this jacket on the Freenote site for the past year. Finally came back in stock and I had it two days later.
