More of a try-on, the recently acquired US-Made (Middleton Mass) cafe racer with some extra character. This jacket appears to have never been worn at all.
I do not. I haven’t thought about it, but I may at some point. You should definitely make a jacket if you’ve got the tools!Do you have a thread with all the jackets you have made in it? I had a look and couldn't find one. I've been thinking about making a jacket or two.
Another stunning example of your skill and design esthetic. This has a slight straight jacket vibe which is due to the newness of the hides but once this jacket starts breaking in, it will certainly become one that should have it's own thread!View attachment 725451
Headed out to grab a couple hundred miles on the bikes with my dad this morning. Seidel teacore steer on this D pocket. Took me 3 stabs at this one to get the dimensions nailed for my ideal riding jacket. Finally got it!
Congrats on the weight loss TomBefore/After.
Today vs. 14 months ago. TMC “Johnny” repro and a weight loss of ca. 12kg.

Thanks man! The hide is still pretty stiff and does look pretty slim, but I can actually wear my thickest hoodie under this one and still move comfortably. Lots of room in the upper sleeves on this pattern lets me get away without an action back.Another stunning example of your skill and design esthetic. When you say couple or few hundred mile bike ride, do you truly mean you ride the bike for a couple or few hundred miles in one day? Is that something folks with bikes do fairly normally?View attachment 725757
Yesterday’s couple hundred mile bike ride turned into a few hundred, so this one got about 11 hours of wear on the bike and it’s all the better for it. I may end up spamming this jacket as it’s breaking in, I really like this one!
Most definitely hundreds of miles per day! My personal record is 740 in a day, and I know there are folks who can beat that. That’s about all I do with motorcycles anymore, as I try to avoid riding in town as much as possible. Drivers around here are becoming increasingly incompetent it seems. Here in SW Missouri and NW Arkansas, we have some really great back roads for day trips. When you say couple or few hundred mile bike ride, do you truly mean you ride the bike for a couple or few hundred miles in one day? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I've never owned a bike and your caption got me intrigued!
Congrats @Tom71!
I don’t see a big change in the jacket, but you’re looking good! That’s a pretty significant weight drop and you didn’t look that heavy before - has it affected the fit of your clothes a lot? And hopefully it’s the result of a health-kick and nothing bad of course.

if I may ask, what was the origin of the pattern? Did you adapt it from taking apart similar motorcycle jackets and trial and error with the sizing/fit? Looks pretty complicated given all the pieces.View attachment 725757
