Yeah, I came up with 3 different jacket patterns in size 40. I sent them all to a third-party professional to have them graded into sizes 36-46.

That's awesome. I didn't know how that actually worked. It's like science and art.

3 days in a row overcast and 60. Happiness. There’s a lot to love about this LW pattern but the shoulders and neck are really exceptional. Somehow you can’t even tell you’re wearing a jacket.

It never occurred to me that there would be more to it than just adding or subtracting a percentage to each measurement, but it makes sense. I’m sure it’s as much art as science. And fascinating!

When I was a kid, my mom would make some of the family clothes. There was a magazine back then released monthly with different designs and the patterns for different sizes:

As you can see, the variance is not an exact consistent percentage across all dimensions.

I would say any kind of pattern tuning to an individual was easy as she could just call for us as she was making it, as we would try the WIP garment and she would measure if she had to add or remove a cm.

First off, very impressive set of fit photos/comparison photos here. You did these very well.

I like the darker jacket on the Left side here. Not just for fit, but also for color and pattern. The color matches your boots (bottom picture) and the whole jacket just seems to "fit" you there. The lighter one just isn't quite as interesting at least to me. Others may have a completely different perspective!
