Rockin' the Schott 618 today, really love the pattern on this beauty(made late 80's - early 90's)!

Wearing my Japan Blue Jeans Sashiko coverall for some chilly mornings on the jobsite. I went for an XL for shoulder and sleeve clearance, but it leaves me with a baggy chest and waist area. I wish I could have tried on a large but I think the loose fit is good for layering. View attachment 728290

Doesnt look baggy at all. In fact, looks to be a pretty perfect fit.

Very cool jacket apart from the mini chest pocket.
What's the difference between a Plainsman and a regular 30s/50s half belt?

It´s deliberately cut longer than the standrad 1930´s Halfbelt. The zipper is set a little higher, so it´s not just an elongated HB, but rather a slimmer version with a silhoutte that flares out at the hem.

You need to get the proportions right, but when you do, it looks really classy, IMO.

You can´t achieve the same look by adding 2" to the standard HB as this will be just a jacket that´s too long (and in which you cannot sit down when the jacket is zipped up).

A bit like a V-cut Cafe Racer that only looks good if it end at your hip bones vs. a classic J-100 which extents a bit below the zipper so that it reaches your back pockets.

Hi, it's been a while since I posted here, I've aged a bit, quit smoking, put on a few pounds as well, but my Aeros still fit.
FQHH Highwayman and CXL Steerhide Cheyanne.

Great looking jackets - really like the button up model.

I've aged 10 years since I joined the Fedora Lounge, I never smoked (thankfully) and some of us have put on a few pounds over the years as well. But, as you said - your Aero's still fit which is the most important part.

We all age but we'll never be younger than we are today. Tomorrow could bring new adventures and possibly a new outerwear discovery! Thanks for posting.
