Recently acquired this Rainbow Country Highwayman in a size 40. Incredible quality, looks and feels amazing. Jury is still out on sizing though - it's my biggest jacket I own as I am generally a size 38. Will make a separate fit post.

It looks good on sizing: arm length, where the shoulder seams should sit, etc. It may be loose, like sweater-underneath fit, but idk if you can actually size down without messing up the dimensions. There is definitely room in the back but it may settle down once it drapes better. You can try playing with the side adjusters. From the look of it, you may be able to go half a size down.

FWIW, I’m a US 38, JP 40 and I wear RC at size JP 38.

US 38 here. I wear an RC 40 for a pretty snug, t-shirt only fit
What’s your height/weight? I’m 5’9 at 150 lbs. If I were closer to 6 ft, I’d probably be a size 40 JP in RC for the extra arm length, which correlates with height.

Red Tornado 24mj. I bought a 42 and a 44 thinking I'd return one. As with most purchases lately they drag they're heels about returns even though they say no problem with returns. I basically bought one and got the other at half price after a lengthy negotiation. I find they fit a bit big so I got the 42 for spring and the 44 for layering. They are said to be selvedge but there's no seam trim? The denim is awesome but it does have a lingering old wool smell that gets tamed down with scented detergent. I find the fit amazing for both jackets so I'm definitely happy with the purchase:)

Oh, man. That’s definitely on my list for this winter! Appreciate your review! Can you share a pic of the seams to see this not-selvedge? Just out of curiosity. I think I’m already sold on it. And also their N1. Any sizing advice? Their table look TTS!

My new JL CR - in unlined 5oz CXL overdye - awesomely stiff at shoulders patches - will be a fun breakin experience!
