Amazing as always man!
The thing that always bothered me with the LL jackets I’ve paid attention to is how the back bulges out. The way they construct the back seems to have no contour. Jackets with one piece backs and no side panel tend to do this. My Real McCoys Wayward did the same thing. Very unattractive unless on an A2 in my eyes.
Would love to see the back in this guy.
This was based on an existing pattern and I did not change the back. There is a bit more contour than a dominator’s pattern due to the side panels. Honestly, I could probably improve it by widening the side panels and further bringing in the curve of the main back panel. I’ll take a fit pic of the back when I’m home and think about it. Maybe I should put a little wear on it first, that huge 4oz panel is still super stiff!
Wow! This is incredible. As a long time owner of a dominator, I love what you’ve done with this one. I think the jacket looks better without the logo on the chest also. Amazing work as always!

Going to see live music tonight in my first love what started it all the Schott 118 got the faux collar years later but I feel like this jacket fits so much better now

Excellent! Never fit so well on me. Looks sleek and from ages past in equal measure on you. Undoubtedly a designer piece, though.
Also, I don't know how nice your day is but I don't recall ever wearing anything more comfortable & breathable which was yet keeping me warm but linen x cotton combo is heaven.
Man, this is amazing. I love LL in general and the Dom in particular, but your version actually looks far superior (of course it does fit to the t, and the original Dom is always a bit boxy by design, so the comparison is a tiny bit unfair to LL).

Finally able to squeeze into this Italian HH Thedi and take the bike out for some errands. The graining is phenomenal.

Oh man, you might be right!
I wondered why this jacket was so soft - it's waay softer than any other jacket in my collection EXCEPT the one lambskin mall jacket.
Plus the graining seems unique. It really doesn't look like any of my other jackets.
I can't find reference to Montgomery Ward making sheepskin MC jackets but this is made for a child so maybe?

I’ve downsized after having kids, I only have my rebel 500 and a bmw R 1250 I co-own with my brother but it’s garaged at my place. Lots of fun but had too many close calls with idiots on the road.
Thanks! I love LL as well and the Dominator was probably top 3 of my all time favorite jackets. I was trying to raise extra $$ for a second motorbike back in 23, so several guitars and jackets went on the chopping block. I immediately regretted letting the LL go and have been kicking around the idea of buying another ever since, but prices are crazy. I actually tried to make my pattern for this jacket to be a bit more boxy through the side panels to accommodate the heavy hide(this one will be for bike use), but it is still slimmer than the Dom was. Thanks again for the compliment!!
I like the three beads at each pocket’s corner. Can we see a back shot? Grains look horse. For 1950s or earlier, unlabeled hide means horse. As with 1960s or later, unlabeled hide means cow.

Looks exactly like those few sheepskin Perfectos that I have had, with the blistering and all & right down to fading, just that mine were all UK made. This would be the first time I'm seeing an US made biker jacket made from sheep leather. But ultimately, why not. It is a very good, very thick leather (if not split).
Lewis Leathers' sheepskin stuff would right now be my primary choice for a new jacket.
