Ending the year with 4 main jackets (and 1 for sale + 1 being altered by a tailor).
2 brown (better with t-shirt, warmer weather) + 2 black (better layered, colder weather).
Y'2 Leather LS-15 in brown aniline midweight horsehide.
Aero Leathers Hooch Hauler in mid-thick brown CXL FQHH.
Aero Leathers Cafe Racer in heavy black CXL FQHH.
Vanson Leathers model E (Highwayman) in Competition Weight thick cowhide + locally made real mouton collar.
All size 36!
In terms of favorites it's definitely the E and the Hooch Hauler. Cafe racer is a bit too big/roomy and the Y2 is a bit tighter than I would like, but both are still fantastic jackets and keepers for now!

Took a long walk along the lakefront last night. It was a chilly night at 22°F (-5.5°C), but it was warmer than the day before. I had to wear a thermal layer under my pants and a face mask to stay warm. However, under my Freenote RJ-2 was just a long sleeve shirt and I was sweating. I cannot believe how warm this jacket keeps me!

I've been wearing the RJ-2 enough that the 20oz canvas is starting to show good signs of wear.

Some pics from the walk. Of course the worst picture is the one of me wearing it.

So here’s a story for you all. Back in ‘76/77 I got my first Schott. I was 19 or 20, living in Boston and heavily immersed in the local rock’n’roll scene motorcycle jackets were not all the rage there yet, but starting to creep in given the explosion of punk in the UK and NYC. Somehow I put together the dough to get a size 34 618. I weighed maybe 120lbs on my 5’7 frame and I just wore that thing everywhere. Well years past, and among the things that happened is I put on probably about 100lbs. About 9 1/2 years ago at age 59 I got sober and started eating better and working out. I’m now at a pretty tone 140. Today I was cleaning out an old closet and way, way in the back I found a leather jacket. I own several, mostly Brooks Gold labels and some Schott’s including a Japanese 641xx size 34. That one fits snug but o love it. Somewhere on this site there’s some pics of me in it. Well I pulled out the leather and lo and behold it was my old 618. I flipped out. Had completely forgotten about it. How I managed to hold onto this long is simply a mystery. Anxiously I tried it on and while it fit fine unzipped, I slmply could not get it zipped. Too small. Took it off and for a minute thought about selling and then came to my senses. It’s a part of my long also mostly forgotten youth. So I took it off and applied a healthy dose of Neatsfoot oil. Did some stretching of the leather and then gave it another go. And I got it. Very snug but still. And that was with thermal shirt and a tshirt. So took off the thermal and tried it with just the tee and was able to zip it up a little easier. Obviously still tight but I’m going to wear this thing around the house for a few days zipped and with a little more stretch I think it will work out nicely as a warmer season jacket, especially where I live in the cooler environment of the San Franciso Bay. Last day of the year, I had to end this year with my absolutely favorite jacket in my collection. RMC j-22 what a pleasure to wear. The experience alone, the smell, the way it hugs you is worth every penny I have spent on the jacket.
Here are two pictures one open and one close. Now I am off to MVA to renew a registration haha

My first Himel, Dominion model in HH, likely a custom tannage from Horween. This is the imperial pattern if I’m not mistaken.

Needs a bit of time to heat up and get back into shape after shipping. Looks nice and seems to fit fine so far. Big fan of the lining.

I am big fan of that back… generally I like the one piece but that pattern is very suitable for a V shape fit. That’s said we would love to see a fit photo..
