Nice aren't they cream suede with red elastic sides, made in a Brogues boots style with leather soles and leather blocked heels in Italy, they were a absolute steal price wise

Zippered louvres sleeves and lower back. Works well on "mixed" days.
15C out and 32C with seabreeze borne humidity on the home run.
Hotter tomorrow with 35C coming early.

I suspect it could be a Valstarino and soft supple goat instead of deer, but of course no labels even though it came from Italy as they make beautiful A1 jackets, but I'm not bothered no labels, it more than beat my expectations

Yes it's their current take on the cafe racer, but uses a gusseted half belt style back. Yes Horsehide. This one is very well stitched, patterned, with excellent high denisity matched panels. I understand why so many place Rainbow country high on their list for quality.

I like a single rider style anyway, I had a couple in the 90s

Got the Italian A1 rebuttoned with the set of dark horn I had, much more effective, wearing with my vintage Lyon Fedora, 90s G star raw chinos and my old desert boots

Since it’s still pretty cold outside, I went with my Indigofera “Amhearst” field jacket in that great sateen green. It’s not 100% heritage-accurate, but honestly it’s one of the best-made field jackets I own.

I’m using a Holubar Mountaineering jacket as a liner, which is actually warmer than my M65 liner.

Got another pair of western style chelsea boots recently, this time a pair from a brand called Grinders.
I love that sleek, very "curvy" design on the boots! plus the Cuban heel looks awesome imo.

I’ve been considering a perforated Vanson for a while now. My perf is currently a Dainese Nera72, which has what I call micro perforations. It looks to me like the Vanson might flow more air. Any chance of posting a pic wearing the Comet? I’d like to see how it fits.

I think the jacket is great because what makes it special lies in its very simplicity. Added to that are the striking color and the distinctive leather. If it weren’t so simple, the color and leather texture would be “too much” for me – but this way, I really like it. Who is the manufacturer?

Agreed! The simplicity of the jacket indeed does let the hide do all the talking. It’s made by Jansha tanning. A Pacific Northwest tanning and leather goods manufacturing company.

If I have my history right, large items like this were made for customers who brought in their own hides. I love the idea of that. It’s cool as they were likely the result of a hunt. This hide shows many imperfections, bites, scars and deformities. Almost certainly home grown. It’s the second one I’ve owned. Had a rough out halfbelt too. Pretty cool!

It’s wild. Both jackets fit about exactly the same. Sold this one off a few years ago. Kinda wish I hadn’t!
