I saw it, and would have bid something if it was my size. Not too much, mind you, since I would still have had to replace the ribbon. Maybe everyone whose size it was just didn't feel like taking on a fixer-upper.

Hi Carter, that's actually the red initials J and C, for John Cavanagh, inside a circle. It's on every Cavanagh liner I've ever seen.

That hat's probably very late Fifties. Give it a good cleaning, a reblock, and new ribbon, and it will be a pretty decent hat. I would guess it didn't see any action because of the ribbon, lousy photos, and smaller size.

The seller was not clear on the size. The ribbon was in bad shape and may not be original since there is a shadow above it. A reserve on a hat like this is unnecessary. The red X in the liner is actually the initials JC with in a circle. Other than that it is not a very good looking hat although the felt is probably pretty good.

2 inch brim. I never saw the size, so I don't know if it fit me or not, but there are some deal-killers. Brims narrower than 2 1/4 inches are not likely to attract much attention from a collector that is willing to fix-r-up, so that leaves just casual buyers as the only pool to bid on it, and they don't want a fix-r-upp'r!
