wind trolley broke

the little button on the end of my wind trolley broke into two pieces, the outside cloth part & the inside metal part. anyone kow how to repair this problem?

thanx that did help. however i think i need a new ribbon covered button to properly repair mine. does anyone know where to find one?

Most fabric stores sell buttons that you can cover with fabric. You'd have to get a bit of ribbon to match the band. I also don't know whether they'd carry tiny ones like this, but you might search online for small sizes.

They are metal and come in two pieces, and you insert a patch of the fabric over the convex one and snap the back part inside that to hold it in place.

thread revival: missing black button on Borsalino.

I recently bought an older Borsalino Homburg. It's a beaut, and Texas Hatters in Lockhart steamed it into shape for my square head, no mean feat.
It's missing its black wind trolley button although the cord is still there. Does anyone have an extra or know of a source for same? Any help would be most appreciated. SL
