Wanted to buy Ship John Willis Jacket size large or large long.

Don't. It's a basic, overpriced Carhartt knock-off, it won't do anything for you & whoever is going to be selling theirs, is gonna bump up the price.

I had one and really liked it (but I do also have a Carharrt that I really like). Ship John are saying they are ahead of their schedule and making moves to step up production and make ordering easier on the Wills jacket, so best bet is to stay on their mailing list and bide your time, I would think.

If you’ve not seen them before though check out Tin Duck‘s heavy waxed cotton jackets. Jason is a one man outfit but the garments look great and their reviews are excellent.

Thank you. I will check it out. Living in Alaska Filson waxed canvas lasts about two years so looking for something that holds up better and looks good.

Yeah I gotta disagree with monitor on this one too. Ship John is NOT just overpriced Carhartt. I have an early model wills jacket that has lasted me 4 years of daily abuse while at the same time shredding Carhartt branded tin cloth pants and a jacket. I just managed, miraculously, to snag a goatskin collab Wills with Langlitz and it is currently my favorite jacket. I pick it over my field leathers Connecticut (which still stinks like cigarettes thanks to the untruthful seller here on tfl). Mike Elias is a good honest dude who pays people well and tries to make good products.
